Would you need some kind of super-heat-resistant waffle iron that can handle hot oil if you wanted to waffle-fry donuts? Or you could flash-fry and then while it's still hot and "imprintable", squish it in the iron? Though I guess that would be the same thing. Either way, these look awesome! :D

Love the photos on this one - so appetizing! I'd love one of these about now!

No way! Love this idea! : )

chocolate! this is my tear, Dany.... :)

I appreciate that you recognize the insanity/stupidity in waffling a donut. No one NEEDS to waffle a donut. But that doesn't mean you SHOULDN'T. You know. For fun. The 'IDEK'-ness of this made me laugh. And, the waffled donuts DO look really cool, I must admit.

I love the idea of a waffled doughnut! I would love to see waffled crab cakes even more =)

my god is that a thing of beauty. that chocolate glaze looks amazing.

Well what I think you forgot to note is how the waffle indentations catch more of the glaze. VERY important in the doughnut to glaze ratio of life. So, with that in mind, I would say, hell yeah you need to waffle 'em first.

my first time to your site and i LOVE it!!

YUM!
