That top Kenmore is the waffle iron our family had growing up, and knowing my dad, my parents still have it.

I have the same old Kenmore model as Marisa's above. The waffle light is actually a clear faceted piece of plastic that lets the red light of the heated coils shine through. Nifty. It makes waffles for a crowd.

I have the Kenmore too -- found it at the DAV a few months ago. It smells a bit like plastic when heated, but makes a mean waffle. ;)

You're right about the old waffle irons being the best. The Calphalon is the second best. Makes great waffles with the first one done by the time the Kitchenaid is ready to start.
